August of 2012 I went on a backpacking trip to North Manitou Island which is part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan. I spent 3 days with a group of people that were complete strangers. I left the island knowing new friends. Every so often these fine folks, along with some others, get together for what we call the Family Dinner. A pitch in with lots of great food, beer, laughter, and a feeling of, well, family. We recently gathered and I brought my camera along. These are some of the imagery I captured that night.
With it being more difficult to find a place to do film processing, I’ve started to do my own. Having a few rolls of color film laying around that needed some developing, I decided to delve into the world of C-41 processing. Ordering a Tetenal C-41 kit from B&H Photo I began on my journey.
